Batterijen Battle
The activity was organised by the Eco-Schools lead teacher for the whole school. The Eco-Planet Team played a major part in deciding where to place the collection barrels and in handing out flyers around the school.

- Waarom zijn jullie hier trots op?: This is the first time we have entered a national sustainability-based competition. We are proud that so many children have brought in their old batteries. With a week to go before the competition closes, we have filled 2.5 barrels with batteries.

Plastics collection
The activity was organised by the Eco-Planet Team. Children designed posters for boxes which were placed around the school. Our staff-representative from the facilities team organised the boxes for us. Children created leaflets which were shared with the school. Photos were also shared on our school screens.

- Waarom zijn jullie hier trots op?: We collected lots of plastic lids from things like milk cartons and shampoo bottles. We were pleased to put together 8 boxes of materials which are used in the school for art activities.

Worm bin
The group 4 students were working on a project about how to reduce food waste in school. A lot of the groups came up with the idea to have a compost bin. We purchased this worm bin as a results.

Rain barrels
The ECO schools group wanted to have some rain barrels to help save water when watering the gardens outside. The installation of the barrels was organised by Faciltities.

- Waarom zijn jullie hier trots op?: The students love the fact that the water is a natural source which they can use to help the garden, rather than using the hose which is attached to the mains water source.

opening kinderzwerfboekstation
Vrijdag 14 oktober hebben we een kinderzwerfboekstation geopend dat toegankelijk is voor kinderen uit het hele dorp. We hebben boeken verzameld en we konden een kapotte koeling met glazen deur krijgen van een dorpshuis. Deze staat nu voor de school en hier kan 24 uur per dag een boek uitgehaald worden.

- Waarom zijn jullie hier trots op?: Hiermee zorgen wij ervoor dat kinderen gestimuleerd worden om te lezen, zonder dat zij hiervoor dure boeken hoeven te kopen.
