Swap Shop
This is a student-initiated and run Service (part of the CAS IB Program at our school) that aims to give a second life to clothes/other items that members of our community no longer use and kindly donate. The students manage the donations, sorting out the clothes in advance (the school has provided a storage space) and organise a monthly evening where students of any year group (generally our older residential students are very interested) can buy these second hand clothes for 1€ per item.
- Welke tips wil je andere Eco-teams geven bij het organiseren van een activiteit/evenement?: Clear and short communication is very important. Stick to the same venue, if possible, for the following events and advertise within your community a month in advance so you ensure new donations and closer to the event, remind students so they show up on the day. The handling of leftover items requires time and commitment so you should identify the students who really want to be involved in this project. With each change of season, donate what has not been sold to other local organisations (Salvation Army, Juupu, etc) that will surely find a great use for those clothes and items.

- Waarom zijn jullie hier trots op?: It is an incredible example of school-level circular economy where all the money raised goes towards the 'Swap Shop Fund' to provide funding back to our own students (in any year group), who can apply 4 times per year for up to 100€ per project, as long as it will impact positively our school and/or Maastricht and puts into practice our school's UWC values. Moreover, students who might not have the means to equip themselves with all the necessary winter clothing get a great opportunity to do so while reusing of clothes is promoted and encouraged actively among students and staff (increasing demand for clothing from the Swap Shop!).

LED verlichting
Wim Diesveld per klas de verlichting vervangen. oude verlichting hergebruiken, zijn die op nieuwe LED verlichting aanschaffen en een klas vervangen.
Al onze verlichting is vervangen en we zijn nu helemaal LED.
- Welke tips wil je andere Eco-teams geven bij het organiseren van een activiteit/evenement?: Denk na over het gebruik en de vervanging.
- Onderwijstype: Basisonderwijs
- Waarom zijn jullie hier trots op?: langzaam maar gestaag gaat het gebeuren. ik vervang zelf alle verlichting om de kosten te besparen. Het is vervangen.

verminderen van het plastic verbruik
ECO-team, het gebruik van Plastic drastische verminderen hier op school. afvalzakken in de afvalbakken is niet meer. we gebruiken 2 afvalzakken per week voor beide locaties. ongeveer nog 5 kleine zakjes in de stations in de klassen. we hebben sinds 2016 geen afvalzakken meer gekocht, de afvalzakken die we gebruiken zijn nog van sinterklaas.

- Waarom zijn jullie hier trots op?: het niet meer kopen van vuilniszakken. van 3000 zakken per jaar naar 40 zakken per jaar.

ECO-team i.v.m. het afval scheiden zijn we gaan werken richting afval vrije school. nu zijn we echt een afvalvrije school
- Welke tips wil je andere Eco-teams geven bij het organiseren van een activiteit/evenement?: lange adem en goede communicatie naar ouders, team en kinderen toe
- Onderwijstype: Basisonderwijs
- Waarom zijn jullie hier trots op?: geen afval per week hebben wij voor school (23 lokalen) 1 vuilniszak met restafval. ook tijdens feestdagen (kerst sinterklaas) geen extra vuilnis.

kinderraad. de kinderraad wilde gaan afval scheiden. eerst dus de afvalberg naar beneden brengen. grootste afvalsoort waren de pakjes. pakjes verbannen uit school. kinderen konden Doppers aanschaffen.
- Welke tips wil je andere Eco-teams geven bij het organiseren van een activiteit/evenement?: lange adem en directie besluit.
- Onderwijstype: Basisonderwijs
- Waarom zijn jullie hier trots op?: geen pakjes meer; veel meer water wordt er gedronken i.p.v. de suikerbommen.
